Day 200

Raspberry Rhubarb Pie
My Mom made this delicious pie for our family tonight, everyone was home!
Sorry for all the recent photos of food, I've been pretty busy packing and whatnot.
Another reminder that I leave tomorrow for two weeks and I will be posting the photos when I return.

Day 199

French Toast
I enjoyed a nice breakfast this morning!

Day 198

Leaving Soon
As marked on my Coniston calendar, I will be leaving for camp this Sunday, July 20th.
I will not have internet access at camp, but I will still be taking photos every day.
I will post the photos from my CIT experience when I return home for a day on August 2nd, and then when I come home for good on the 16th.
I am sorry that you all will be unable to follow my journey daily, but there will be some wonderful photos to view when I get back!

Day 197

Bird's Eye View
Flying home today I got a nice view of the Massachusetts area from above.
I'm not quite sure where this is, but we were flying into Boston and this was about 20 minutes before landing.

Day 196

The Arch
This St. Louis landmark is a beautiful piece of architecture that is so much fun to photograph.

Day 195

"Peaches and Cream"
Tonight we went to Bergamot Restaurant in Somerville, Massachusetts.
This vibrant dessert was my dad's, I couldn't help but take a photo!
Such awesome presentation!

Day 194

Golden Ice Cubes
I was bored out at dinner tonight so I started fooling around with my glass.
I noticed the ice cubes caught the restaurant lights really nicely and looked almost golden.
I did a little post processing as usual (this time mostly just to boost the exposure) but this is really what it looked like!

Day 193

Super Moon
The moon tonight was an interesting orange/yellow color.
When came back outside after changing lenses I was bummed to see that a cloud had covered the moon,
but I took a 30 second exposure anyway and got a neat moving shot of the cloud.
Then I zoomed in to 300 mm to get the detail in the moon at a faster shutter speed (in the 30 second exposure the moon was one solid color).
Then I put the two photos together in photoshop and came out with this result.
I've been meaning to get a shot like this for a while now and I am pretty happy with how this turned out.

Day 192

Interesting Flower
I have no idea what this flower is called but I really liked the way it looked and I decided to take a photo.
Love the purple tips on the edge.

Day 191

Moon Light Painting
I was taking pictures of the moon tonight when I decided to do something less traditional.
I moved the camera around in a heart shape, using the moon as a light source.
I did editing in Lightroom to get the magenta glowing effect but most of this was in camera creativity.

Day 190

Lightning
The thunder storm last night went past midnight, so I was able to use one of my shots for today's photo.
I am so excited to have gotten my first ever picture of lightning!
This was taken using a long exposure, and it took a lot of tries until I finally got the shot I wanted.

Day 189

Rainbow Chard
Today we visited Peace Valley Farm, the organic farm where my brother is working this summer.
The owner Bill gave us a tour of the property and there were plenty of photo opps!

Day 187

Double Exposure Self Portrait
This is my first try at double exposure in photoshop, where you take two photos and layer them afterwards.
I think it came out pretty well, I would have liked to have more detail on the right edge of my hair,
with more leaves and branches to make it more interesting.
All in all, though, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.
Excited to try it some more!

Day 186

Home Sweet Home
Isle au Haut was great, but it was nice to come back to this view today.
I was busy unpacking and watching the World Cup, so this was the only photo I took today,
luckily it came out pretty good!

Day 185

Hans
My settings weren't quite "correct" for this shot (my whites were way blown out), but after a little editing I really like the way it turned out.
It puts all of the focus on his face and there are no distractions in the background.
Also, Happy Fourth of July!!!  I took some photos of the parade but I liked this one too much not to post it.
Today was out last day on Isle au Haut, it's sad to be leaving but it will be nice to be home.

Day 184

"The Storekeeper" Panini
For lunch today we went to Black Dinah CafĂ©.
The small place has become famous for it's wonderful chocolates, but also has great food!

Day 183

Ocean Steel Wool
Hans went out onto the rocks to spin while I shot from the shore.
This was around 9:00 PM, dark enough to see the steel wool but light enough to see the sky.
Day 183 means I am half way through the project and we are halfway through the year 2014!

Day 182

Boom Beach
Here's another long exposure shot taken at boom beach (see earlier post here).
I tried to make some panoramas but my computer wasn't cooperating, stay tuned for more posts from this shoot on the website.
